Exit Employees/ Departures

The Retirement age for employees working at SUA ranges from 55 to 60 years of age (for Administrative, Technical and Health Staff – excluding Medical Specialists who compulsorily retire at the age of 65). Compulsory Retirement for academicians from the rank of Senior Lecturers to Professors is 65 and those from a Lecturer and below is 60 years. Expected Retirees are guided to start preparing for their departure six months before the date of retirement. In valuing our staff, SUA provides Pre-Retirement Training to employees to help them prepare for life after work.

Retirees are always assisted in completing the following Forms before their departure;

  • Exit Interview form
  • Clearance form
  • Application for exit from internal Networks

The Retirees are also issued with Certificates of Service (apply here) during the period
