The University provides housing services to Staffs who request for it. Those who wish to live in university houses should write a requesting letter to the Chairman of House Committee under first signature of his/her head of department but also to go through a requesting form which should be attached to the particular letter.
University Houses are located in various areas particularly in Edward Moringe Campus (EMC) Solomon Mahlangu Campus (SMC) and Town Residence around Morogoro municipal, Katavi Campus in Katavi region and Olmotonyi Campus in Arusha
The houses are in the range of grades A to C, where the rent amount is calculated on the basis of grade in which a particular house is concern. A is rated about 8 Percent of staff’s basic salary, B is 6 Percent of Staff’s basic salary and C is 5 Percent of staff’s basic salary. For some of houses which are connected to university water and electricity services bill, client have to pay 25,000.00 and 45,000.00 respectively.
The allocation of houses to a staff is done by the House Committee Meeting which sits four times a year quarterly.
